Workshop
The core activaty of the workshop is making classical Italian mandolins, with the focus on Embergher models. I am being true to the aesthetics and tonal qualities of the original instruments from the early 20th century, but without being a mere copiest. In a subtle way, I added my own ideas and aesthetics to the instrument.
Making a 20th century bowlback Italian mandolin is a labour-intensive activity. Because of the beautiful, but complex teardrop- shaped bowl, each stave has its own twist, form, and curve. For every part of the making process, specific and custom-made tools are used.
